a lot

I am working on a colorful little quilt for a small someone. Quite a lot of color compared to the wintery white and gray outside. It has been awhile since I stitched daily and all of the sudden I miss it so much, the rhythm of it. I forget it is part of what keeps the balance.

I have had a hard time getting back into the groove of things since the holidays. I always expect a calm after it all but it never works out like that. I had so many plans to start the new year and now January is gone so quickly. Thinking I should begin my new year in February, maybe even March - with spring.

  1. I find my balance from daily stitching too... it's nice to imagaine others sitting stitching each day too, having that little quiet time, where thoughts can focus or wander.

Such a beautiful, colourful little cloth for a small someone. I love the colours and your hand stitching is beauriful.

  2. That small someone is pretty lucky! January slipped by for me, as well. I'm trying to tie up loose ends on old projects while juggling new ones. I like the idea of the year beginning with spring. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful stitched pieces.-Julie

  4. Well, Chinese New Year is February 10th. I celebrate all the New Years as a way of restarting the year and getting it right! This is wonderful with your diamond stitching on it.

  6. Beautiful colour combination - even the red seems soothing against the other colours.

  7. Thank you all for the kind comments. Still stitching on this one, hoping to get it finished before small someone becomes a little bit bigger someone.
