Setting Roots
Spent some time working on this Sunday night and here and there yesterday - while sitting on the front porch.
I think I will work on areas from bottom to top - as it grows - root to stem to leaves to eventually bloom.

Fragments Find a Home
This is the current state of the cloth I am working on for Jude's online workshop. I am enjoying the experience very much - it has all the wheels turning in my head. I expect to be working on the ideas discussed for quite awhile. A few of my favorite little fabric experiments have found a home on this cloth.

Tomorrow
This is coming along - I ordered some new supplies - nice markers - waiting on those to draw a bit more on this and keep the stitching going.
Also - Jude's workshop starts tomorrow and I am going to try to post what I am working on for that on this site too. I can't wait to get started. More soon...

Looking Forward
I am very much looking forward to being a part of Jude's Spirit Cloth Workshop next week. We will be talking about creating personal story cloth. It has me doodling on fabric and thinking about telling a story. I am also just so excited to be in a learning opportunity like this - to be in a continuing education situation again - in conversation with people excited about similar things - in creating.

Something About Connectedness
Today is my biggest boy's last day of kindergarten. He made two drawings on cards to give to his teachers. I love the way his drawings resemble patchwork. He made the "center of the earth" drawing for his reading teacher - she encouraged his love of science and art in the projects she chose while teaching him to read.
This piece is still moving along - but I see the connectedness it has - to everything.

A Face
In college I loved my drawing classes, especially figure drawing. I have become so rusty at it - but thinking about it again.
Sometimes I draw faces in my sketchbooks - but they never make it onto fabric.
I stayed up stitching last night and this happened. It's just a start of something...
