then we came home, traveled again (not as far) and we are home again for the time being. I could wait no longer to bind the little blue one - so now that is done. Still a few diamonds to stitch and then little blue will go to live with my sister and her family.

Love the overlaying pattern. So effective! Beautiful.
ReplyDeletejust love the mending you did on your shirt sleeve.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb! I would like to try another pattern and larger scale next time and see how that goes...
ReplyDeleteDeanna, thanks! Going to try it on the knees of my boys' pants next!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when you ravel with a quilt. You add some of your sensations to it...
ReplyDeletevery sweet small quilt. i love the overlayed pattern. very nice! and your shirt mending is wonderful! i'm perkolating a few ideas for some myself...it's sad one must "tone down" so much to create a mended men's garment (unless you happen to be quite urban)
ReplyDeletemontse - I ironed it just a bit before I folded the back around as binding and the heat brought out woodsy smells of the cabin we stayed in.
ReplyDeletejoe - thanks! I tend to want to make the mending stand out - but I think mending tone on tone and camouflaging the patch could be a look all it's own and very nice. I think it is the mending itself that is unexpected.
ReplyDeleteYour work is lovely and calming...and I love the mending!
ReplyDeleteSuzanna - thank you. stitching restores calmness in me - so I like that you see calmness in this
