Still thinking about and working with that quilted pattern over simple piecing. I see the stitches as a layer floating over the pieced cloth. Wanting and needing to cover the whole cloth with stitches - stitching the grid then going back to fill the spaces within. I pieced the cloth in a symmetrical pattern - but I like it that the pattern becomes lost in some areas due to choice of fabrics. This is a small cloth - about 11" X 22" - portable for warm weather adventure...
I really like how the diamonds appear and disappear, so sometimes you're focussing on the quilting and sometimes on the pattern.
