restful spot

I have slowly been working on my sewing room/studio, removing all unnecessary clutter. Trying to be very honest about what I use and what I don't use/need. It is becoming a place I want to be rather than the catch-all it had become.

Before Maple even came to be with us I placed this old sectional piece in the dormer window in hopes she would be my company in this room. This morning, after a lovely and apparently exhausting walk in the woods she has settled into her spot.

Have a restful weekend.

  1. That is going to be my Christmas present to myself...getting my sewing/art room in order (so I want to be in there, rather than put something else in there and quickly close the door!!!).

I love your cosy spot for your companion.

    1. Well now I am looking for a spot to put things so everything doesn't end up in here again. It is nice to have this room cleared out for Christmas to make all sorts of things. It's much more fun when there's room to work.

  2. What a sweet companion you have for your sewing room! I found myself cleaning my studio this weekend, too - feels good to be less cluttered, right? -sus

    1. Yes, feels so good to have less clutter. I am working on a few new habits. Trying to have a specific place for everything in here - so it will be easier to keep it tidy. We will see.

    1. and it's the being really honest that is taking me so long to get it done, but I have passed lots of things on and I am feeling a bit lighter.

    1. It is! I will take better photos at some point. It had been left behind in the basement when we moved into the house before this one. We were kind of excited to find it there. I have used it for a long time as my sewing table - I love the handy little drawer.

  5. So sorry I've missed your posts! The greatest gift to yourself is a place to work...and an uncluttered one...so much the better. Have to say that I'm not too good in that department. I need to do some purging VERY soon! Love that Maple has found her spot and can be good company for you (love her name as well)-Julie
